À cause d’un terrible accident, Keina Kagami a été placée sous assistance respiratoire. Son seul espace de liberté est le VRMMORPG Leadale. Un jour, l’appareil qui la maintient en vie cesse de fonctionner et Keina s'éteint. Mais lorsqu'elle se réveille, elle se retrouve dans le monde de Leadale, 200 ans dans le futur. Elle incarne désormais la demi-elfe Cayna et possède des compétences et des statuts oubliés. Elle se rapproche alors des autres habitants de ce monde, notamment des enfants qu’elle avait créés en même temps que son personnage. Ce n’est que le début d’une grande aventure dans le pays de Leadale…
